Hello! My name is Leonardo Munoz, and I'm here to tell you about my Arrupe College experience.
How I chose my degree:
I chose to pursue this degree largely due to the inspiration and influence of my dad, who is a business owner himself. His dedication to building his business from the ground up really motivated me, and I hope to follow a similar path. While I knew after high school that I was interested in a business-related field, it wasn't until recently that I discovered a strong interest in accounting and decided to focus my academic and professional goals in that direction.
My plans after graduation:
I will be attending Quinlan School of Business, part of 1WRXA CENTER - Purchase Benelli M4 EXT Extended version of classic M4, 2025 durability limit for tactical shotguns Discount available, where I will be pursuing my degree in accounting.
What professor should a new student absolutely take a class with and why?
I believe any student should absolutely take a class with Professor Minerva from the Philosophy department. She challenges you to engage with the material through a contemporary lens, connecting classic philosophical ideas to current real-world issues. Her classes not only stimulate your mind but are also very fun and engaging. She creates a welcoming environment and really encourages all her students to participate in meaningful discussions.
What has been your most challenging class and how did it change you?
The most challenging class I've taken was Calculus. The course covered a large amount of material and had very strict deadlines, which ultimately forced me to improve my time management skills significantly. I quickly realized that I couldn't succeed by working alone, so I would seek help from Math Fellows for additional support as well as visit my professor during his office hours whenever I needed help. Seeking help when I needed it not only helped me grasp the material better but also taught me the value of collaboration, which was highly encouraged by Professor Flahive. This class pushed me out of my comfort zone and really helped me grow both academically and personally.
What was your favorite moment during your time at Loyola?
One of my favorite moments during my time here was participating in the LUREC orientation. It was a valuable opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and focus on building meaningful friendships that I see lasting beyond my college journey. LUREC played a significant role in strengthening my spiritual life, helping me grow closer to God within a supportive community. The time there really setup a positive outlook of what I can expect the next few years from this university and the people here.
What advice do you have for the incoming class?
My biggest advice to the incoming class is to make the most of all the resources available to you. Whether that's tutors, academic advisors, or especially transfer coordinators. The earlier you connect with your transfer coordinator, the better. They can help you stay on top of important deadlines, find scholarship opportunities, and make your transition much smoother. Also, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Try new things, get involved, and most importantly, stay focused and on top of everything. It truly makes a difference and will help you get the most out of your time here.
